According to press reports, City stadium is set to have the first artificial turf in Kenya. The project will be funded by FIFA . This synthetic turf pitch, called Xtreme Turf, is manufactured and being installed by ACT Global Sports.

How to get to the Nairobi City Stadium
By road: Nairobi city Stadium is approximately 2.8 Kilometers from the Kencom bus stage in Nairobi. From the Kencom bus stage in the Nairobi CBD, one can walk via Moi Avenue, Haile Selassie Avenue and Landhies Road. The Nairobi City Stadium is to the right hand side immediately after joining Jogoo Road from the city stadium roundabout. Through public means, one can use the various Matatus plying the Jogoo Road route. These Matatus going to Nairobi City Stadium in Kenya include Umoja Estate bound Matatus from Ronald Ngala street in Nairobi, 36 (Dandora) picked from Muthurwa bus stage in Nairobi, 58(Buruburu) picked from Accra Road/Tom Mboya junction in Nairobi, 10(Maringo) from Muthurwa bus station in Nairobi among many others.
Anyone interested in accessing the Stadium must be keen not to miss the Nairobi City Stadium entry gate due to the many stalls that are located outside the stadium. These stalls near the Stadium provide a shopping opportunity for second hand clothes, shoes, fruits and vegetables in Kenya but the downside is that they consume up space that would be useful for parking in Nairobi City Stadium.
